On a final note, you should also be aware of the fact that from a developer perspective, some techs view Disk Utility as a lightweight app which misses things which other maintenance type apps may catch. In fact, as you may already know, there are some things which Disk Utility cannot repair if you use it while you are booted into the active system. In the case of examining your internal startup drive, and in particular, repairing your internal startup drive, Apple has long recommended that you do so from a bootable system that is NOT your startup system. In case you are not aware of it, what Disk Utility sees and reports depends to some degree on how and from what location it is being launched. Exactly how are you running Disk Utility? In other words, are you running it from the active system while you are booted into that same system? Or are you running it while in Recovery Mode? Or are you perhaps running it from some external bootable drive?
